Car 258 Brian Tullio / Andres Bautista tried to fix their tie rods earlier, but the fix is no longer working and they're trying to make it to the final MTC.   Karen G.
 
19:03   Coyne's Off ?
Car 76 John Coyne / Douglas Nagy report the he bent the steering linkage, then hit a tree. We're not sure we believe him because he only lost 45 seconds. It was good for him that he didn't lose more since he only won by .01 min (.6 sec).   Karen G.

Car 256 Javier Olivares / Jonathon Heinz finished the rally and said, "Excellent rally!"   Karen G.

Car 31 Michel Hoche-Mong / Jimmy Brandt reported after stage 4 that the roads were tricky and fun!   Karen G.

Car 15 Chuck Wilson / Rick Wilson honked when he finished the rally, everyone clapped, and he said, "Not only are we stupid, but we finished!"   Karen G.

Car 301 Tony Chavez / Raquel Salas said it's going well and he's going to try to hold on to first place in his class.   Karen G.
 
17:51   Car 258 trouble
Car 258 Brian Tullio / Andres Bautista had a bent tie rod and had to be towed in, but are hoping to fix and get back on the road. They're grateful to Car 374 John Dillon / Synnove Wise for trying to tow them!   Karen G.

Car 768 Eric Poth / Brent Blakely said stage felt good, but they lost time and are pushing hard to regain their former position.   Karen G.
 
17:45   Big rock slowdown
Car 256 Javier Olivares / Jonathon Heinz hit a big rock on stage 3 and were slower on this last run.   Karen G.

Car 15 Chuck Wilson / Rick Wilson is having a lot of fun and getting faster on the stage when repeated. They're also looking forward to having a beer at the end.   Karen G.

Car 247 Michael Seidman / Thomas Luhrs reports they have no intercom and the stage is very loose, so the car is moving around a lot.   Karen G.

Car 247 Michael Seidman / Thomas Luhrs said that they haven't driven in 8 years, but their car feels good and they're having fun.   Karen G.

Car 11 Bret Robinson / Brent Ellzey hit a tree on the driver's side and lost some time, but is still trying to reclaim his former position in his class.   Karen G.

Car 31 Michel Hoche-Mong / Jimmy Brandt felt tires going off, noticed that right front wheel had a lot of positive camber when he checked.   Karen G.

Car 142 Jason Copt / Cameron Meng is keeping a good pace, but had a slight off on a right 3 and lost 6 seconds.   Karen G.

Car 76 John Coyne / Douglas Nagy leading after 3 stages! He plans to keep going fast since the stage is getting softer.   Karen G.

Car 769 has withdrawn after service due to car not starting.   Karen G.

It has been reported that car 344 Hakan Okcuoglu / Sean McElwain is stopped on-stage with OK sign and triangles out. At this time, they think they are out of the race.   Karen G.
 
16:39   Recce Penalties
car 344 Hakan Okcuoglu and car 9 Murat Okcuoglu have been given 0.10 minutes penalty each for not using their rally car on recce.   Mike G.

Jeff Hendricks, the service area steward, says that everyone is all smiles at the service area and is enjoying the rally.   Karen G.
 
16:07   301 near crash
Chavez (Car 301) removed a "loose" instruction in the notes during recce, only to find it very loose at speed, going sideways and coming to a complete stop so he didn't crash! He then told his co-driver to put it back in and circle it.   Karen G.

Car 9 Murat Okcuoglu / Cem Akdeniz is a DNF due to a broken control arm after stage 2.   Karen G.
 
16:01   Gravity still works
Car 301 Tony Chavez / Raquel Salas observed that everyone went faster on the downhill stage.   Karen G.
 
15:52   Downhill pucker
Car 11 Bret Robinson / Brent Ellzey said that the downhill is a good place to pick up some time, which is true since he was faster by a minute! He also moved up 4 places in the start order after the reseed in the service area.   Karen G.

Car 258 Brian Tullio / Andres Bautista came into the finish of stage 2 with a right rear flat, but only lost about 10-15 seconds.   Karen G.

The first cars have finished stage 2 and are entering the service area for an hour and 15-minute service.   Karen G.
 
14:55   Loose!
Car 768 Eric Poth / Brent Blakely reported an interesting stage, but looser than expected, so the car was moving around a lot.   Karen G.
 
14:54   Bret cautious?
Car 11 Bret Robinson / Brent Ellzey reports great roads, lots of fun, and nice flow. He's trying to be cautious, but would rather be here having fun than not.   Karen G.
 
14:50   Finish?
Car 374 John Dillon / Synnove Wise, the driver is normally a co-driver, but is trying to finish the rally as best he can.   Karen G.
 
14:47   Slippy?
Car 256 Javier Olivares / Jonathon Heinz had a good run, says it's very technical and slippery, but is managing to stay on course after a few scares at the beginning of the stage.   Karen G.
 
14:41   More power!
Car 258 Brian Tullio / Andres Bautista is having fun, but wishes he had more power (he is currently mostly in first gear) and hopes gravity will help on the way down the other side.   Karen G.
 
14:39   Scary moment
Car 301 Tony Chavez / Raquel Salas is having fun. He had a scary moment at the first caution, but went back up to going fast after that.   Karen G.

Car 247 Michael Seidman / Thomas Luhrs said stage was very technical, but fun and enjoyed it. It was different from other rallies and very pretty up here!   Karen G.

Car 769 Andrew Cowan / Ryan Dunham reports the stage was twisty, slippery, scary, and not for the fainthearted.   Karen G.

Car 9 Murat Okcuoglu / Cem Akdeniz had a great stage and loved it. He had low RPM issues, but hopes to rise up to 6th overall over the whole rally.   Karen G.
 
14:25   Reunion time
Car 217 Bill Malik /Christofer Edstrom had fun blowing the cobwebs off on this tight stage, said the organizers did great job prepping the stage.   Karen G.
 
14:21   Chuck looking toward bar
Car 15 Chuck Wilson / Rick Wilson had a clean run. They are glad to be back in the car again and looking forward to drinking after the rally.   Karen G.
 
14:18   Into the woods....
Car 117 Pete Pollard / Marie Boyd reports the first stage was a good, clean, and fun run and that it's great to be back in the woods again!   Karen G.
 
14:16   Stage 1 twisty
Car 31 Michel Hoche-Mong /Jimmy Brandt reports that the first stage was good with lots of bends.   Karen G.
 
14:12   Car 344 oil issue
Car 344 reported that the first stage is very good, but they lost 1/4 of oil and the oil light started blinking by the end of the stage. A later report indicates that the problem was only the indicator - the oil seems fine.   Karen G.
 
14:11   Working stage
Competitors are saying that the first stage was good and very twisty, as well as very technical.   Karen G.
 
14:08   Hoche out of breath
Car 31 Michel Hoche-Mong / Jimmy Brandt came in from the first stage breathing too hard to even speak!   Karen G.
 
14:04   Scores are beginning to come in
Cars are beginning to complete the first stage with a report of "it's dangerous!"   Karen G.
 
13:54   Rally has begun!
First car has started and we are running on schedule. Weather is cold and cloudy, but visibility is still good.   Karen G.
 
00:41   Good weather expected
The weather for the Frazier Mtn Rally this Saturday looks good with a 15 to 20 MPH wind to keep the dust down and a high of 54 deg in the service area. At the top of the stage the high is expected to be 46 deg - so a bit cooler than the bottom but still nice.   Mike G.
